This project illustrates the design process as an intricate
mechanical system, rather than merely a human process.
The video depicts the AI as an interruption to the system,
as the user grapples with the encroaching technology, and is the embodiment of my own ethical dilemmas in incorporating AI into my personal creations.
We live in a world so full of AI,
While I do not think that my perspective on AI has significantly shifted, I find myself in a position where I can more effectively express my thoughts and emotions regarding this subject. I consider AI to be a remarkably potent instrument, one that has the potential to enhance human abilities but can also restrict them just as easily.
Technology inherently
lacks compassion (regardless of how much we strive to imbue
it with such) and it is here that we need to bridge the void.
As a practitioner in design, my viewpoint is articulated thus.
AI should not be viewed as a final destination; rather, it is
intended to support the journey. However, it does not substitute for me, nor should it eclipse the love and compassion that I pour
into my work.
Enterprise Design Thinking with IBM
2025
As a component of the project, working collaboratively in a team to implement EDT in addressing complex challenges. The project explores how digital experiences and AI technologies contribute to assisting the hotel industry in transitioning to a new, sustainable normal. Coached by IBM partners, learning foundational skills in IBM Enterprise Design Thinking (EDT): collaboration, synthesis, design research, prototyping, and storytelling by earning the Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner badge.
The Bonfire Project
2025
The Bonfire Project serves as a response to the Bays West, connecting with Country project. This project explores ways to preserve and share our memories through environmental graphics and wayfinding techniques. The Bonfire Project draws inspiration from the concept of bonfire game saves, commonly found in various video games, and utilises circles as indicators of a physical space.
The narrative of the wayfinding mirrors a personal reflection of designing on Country and showcases an evolving image of a flame. This graphic is intended to be etched on the ground, offering a more subtle approach to wayfinding, allowing users the choice to engage with it or not.
MICIN
2024
Micin is a brand promoting stock cubes with profound Indonesian heritage, harmonising nostalgia with contemporary flair. Borrowing its name from the Indonesian slang for MSG, Micin is a nod to a shared love for instant, (and heavily flavoured) processed food.
The brand draws from the rich motifs of home: the intricate patterns of Indonesian batik, and the nostalgic charm of vintage labels. A central motif is the Mangkok Ayam Jago, the iconic rooster bowl found across East and Southeast Asia–symbolising familiarity, history, and comfort.
This endeavor examines the capabilities of printed media as a medium for concepts that may not be suitable in other formats, reflecting on how we can minimise packaging waste through innovative design practices.
Kill Climate D*niers
2024
Kill Climate D*niers is an Australian stage production by David Finnigan that thoughtfully explores the ongoing conversation surrounding climate change. As part of NUTS’ promotional efforts for the play, the folder flyer acts as a (literal) invitation to engage with and support the performance, subtly encouraging the audience to take part in the climate discussion.
The flyer/poster showcases playful graphic designs in vibrant, attention-grabbing colors, mirroring the play’s whimsical take on an extremely serious topic. The design incorporates striking graphic shapes, borders, and lines that evokes a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of classic packaging designs.
Showcasing hand-painted typography, applied onto a plastic bag and digitised to impart a grungy and textured quality to the poster design as a homage to the design aesthetic utilised in the play’s production.
LEGIT Magazine
2024LEGIT is a design-focused magazine,
celebrating indulgence through
various layers.
Each edition delves into a specific
aspect of design,exploring and highlighting
its significance within the
broader context of its environment. LEGIT illustrates the importance
of the small details in design at
a larger scale, presenting it to you in a rich and saccharine package.
LEGIT is inspired by one of my beloved treats from home.
Kue Lapis Legit, or the thousand layers cake, exemplifies
meticulous care and patience wrapped in a delectable
and indulgent presentation. A remarkable and enduring legacy stemming from the era of the Dutch East Indies has
undergone a significant transformation, largely influenced
by the diverse and abundant spices that our land has to offer.
Lapis Legit is all about layers, crafted by baking fine layers
one at a time. LEGIT magazine is thoughtfully constructed
in layers, consistently mindful of its final layered outcome.
LEGIT is an homage to my heritage and culture, celebrating
the profound history of my homeland, Indonesia. LEGIT
serves as a platform to elevate diverse voices, showcasing
individuals and the subtle elements in design that are
frequently disregarded and overlooked.
a Love Letter to a Jellyfish
A Love Letter to a Jellyfish aims to portray longing and
loss through the telling of the main character’s memory. The
video was filmed on a handheld camera in order to intimately
portray the memories of the main character’s lover through
an outside perspective. The video is narrated over by spoken
word poetry, inspired by the article on Dr. Claire Rowe,
written in the style of a love letter.
Ernst Haeckel couldn’t look at a jellyfish without seeing
his wife’s face. He had become fascinated with the
medusae just a decade before his wife, Anna Sethe had
unexpectedly passed.
